Shaving and trussing a 9"
I know we've got at least 1 shaved 9" in the club, wasn't sure if there were others. I'm thinking about shaving and top trussing the 9" housing I picked up yesterday. I figure as long as it's out, it makes for an easier upgrade, and I might set it up with a flat-topped truss in case I ever want to 4 link the rear. Anyone done this or have advice? I know heat input with the stamped sheet housing is an issue, wasn't sure if there were others I should be aware of.

As I'm sure you know I shaved and back trussed mine. I love the clearance but have always said I would never do it again. The truss, yes, the shave, no. It is quite a bit of work for what you gain. You are welcome to take a close look at mine if you decide to go for it though.

I'll likely take you up on that at some point. Given your fab skills, it's saying something that it was a pain. If I truss mine, it'll be a top truss. I'm already short on rear clearance because of my 23 gallon fuel tank.
