Post Headers with a 351W
Looking for advice on which headers to run with a 351W that will give as little modification and/or interference issues as possible. It seems as though shortys are the suggested option but I can only seem to find ONE vendor that has headers designed for a 351W (BC Broncos). Wild Horses has told me that theirs will most likely rub the passenger fender well. The more I read up on the different vendor sites, it seems more apparent that the only set that has been tested with a 351W set-up is the BC option-- it just so happens to be the most expensive option as well.

Any feedback from those that have done this swap already from a 302 with long tubes? I currently have a 3spd manual but am planning on going ZF5 later in the year.

BC Headers work fine but they are so close to the inner fender on the passenger side that it will burn the paint. My engine bay is painted white but it has turned yellow near the headers...it's a close fit.

Mine are stock Mustang shorties. 5.0 IIRC. You don't have to buy new if you don't want to!

Post Re: Headers with a 351W
I just built my Sons EB (351W and ZF/D20) and we used long tube headers and an exhaust kit from Summit Racing. The headers were Headman's, #HED-89410. The exhaust system was Hooker #HOK-16567HKR and then a pair of turbo mufflers, #XYZ-904. The exhaust pipes did not directly bolt up to the headers; however, it was pretty easy to modify that small section. The rest was very easy to install. Unfortunately, I don't know of a decent local exhaust shop that doesn't suck, so I've decided it's easier/better to build my own. At least the welds won't look like bat guano.
