Post 4x4x2 Power Steering
Anybody know off the top of their head where the indexing flats on a stock pittman are located? The flats on the sector shaft from a 79 Bronco appear to be at 12, 3, 6 and 9 with the pittman arm extending upward at 12 o'clock. I used a donor piston from a '93 F-250 and that sector shaft and pittman both have flats that are 45 degrees off. I'm hoping my stock pittman arm will still work. Alternatively I guess I'll grab a file and groove the indexing flats to make it a non-indexed arm.

They file very easily. I did one and it only took about 15 minutes to do all 4.

Thanks Viper. From my highly scientific research (looked at the picture in my Tom's Bronco Parts catalog) it appears as if the stock arm is indexed properly for what I need. I can always file grooves in the flats as a backup plan.
