Cam cancel turn signal
I'm looking to put in a cam canceler for my turn signal in my steering wheel column. I bought the part, I installed it, and it doesn't work? I do have an aftermarket steering wheel and I've replaced the cam, turn signal itself already with new wiring. A pictures or thoughts or directions on how to install the Cam Cancel and its placement within the steering shaft? ... , sorry I didn't put this under technical!

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
I moved it for you. There are a few versions. I know my 74 uses a 73 cam. Its a white plastic one like this: http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Tu ... lumn_PartsThe cam sets over, what is essentially, the "nut" the turn signal arm threads into. Sorry I don't know the proper part name. Positioned like the picture, with the arms towards the steering shaft. You push the sheet metal push nut over the flared pin on the "nut" to secure the cam. The trickey part is bending the wire contactors *just right* so they contact the proper spots when the turn signal is activated. If the wires aren't right, your signals and brake lights won't work right. If yours is different, someone else will have to speak up.

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
The other thing to look at is the adapter for your steering wheel. My Grant wheel has 2 pins that stick out of the back of the adapter to hit the tabs on the canceling cams. They're sort of a pain in the butt to install, and it didn't have them when I got the truck. I'd be a little surprised if you put the cam in wrong, as there aren't that many ways to install it that wouldn't contact the tabs at all.

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
Thanks fellas, maybe I'm posting this wrong, It's the...Turn Signal "CANCELING CAM", Here's a pic... I already installed the turn signal and wiring. Now I'm going back into it and installing the cam canceling thingy and it doesn't do anything. It doesn't pop the plastic turn signal out of its turn signal grove.
Hope that makes sense :)

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
It clips to the back of the original steering wheel or grant aluminum hub piece.

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
When I put my toms wheel in the instructions said to grind down the cancel tab. Don't know if you need to do it or not but that might be your issue .

Re: Cam cancel turn signal
Okay, alright, I think I got you! Right now it's just floating around the spring? I'll pull the darn Steering wheel again this weekend and have another look. Thanks!
