 COP CAR, COP BRAKES Not Bronco related so look away if your squeamish.
My step-son has.a 91 Crown Vic Police Interceptor with the V8.
He wants to do a tune up on it, including changing plugs.
I think the motor is a 5.4 mod motor ?
I'm wondering if this is the motor that some have said it is common to strip threads out of spark plug holes when replacing plugs ?

Re: COP CAR, COP BRAKES 2001 should be fine - my old 2001 and 2003 f150s were not a problem. I have a newer style 5.4 in my 2005 and 2007 f150s. They used the funky modular plugs. If it turns out you have the same type plugs and break one, do not worry. They are easy to get out with the correct tool. I have one you can use if you get in trouble.

Re: COP CAR, COP BRAKES You'll be fine. And it's a 4.6 in there. Be sure to put anti seize on the new plugs as the heads are aluminum.

COP CAR, COP BRAKES 5.4 tritons from 97 to 02 I believe had the issue where plugs where known to pop out as there were only 3 threads in the heads for the plugs to screw into. They have several fixes for it if it happens but I'm fuzzy from my research. I bought a 97 expedition with a 5.4 in it about 5 years ago for a friend of mine. I still drive it a few times a year and It's been fine so far.
