I have a Stroppe look alike that you could cut the length down on the horizontal arms that I'd give you for $50 bucks.

It's slowly turning into a roll cage.
Was going to use the stroppe roll bar but decided to use it for measurements to fab my own style of roll cage.
It will still be close to looking like the stroppe style but will have a custom look to it.will post more pictures as I go

You should leave it that height.
Looks like a wake board tower, KC Lights and speakers?

You can call it Your "DON'T Roll over Bar"!!!

Keep up the Good work! Bend-er up and Weld-er up!

I was able to sneak out for a couple hours last night and I got the last 2 bends in the hoop and cut to the height I wanted it. It was a one man test fit and camera man.

So I noticed that when trying to get a 90 degree bend I would have to go to 95 because of back flex. So now I've kind of got the hang of it. The bends I did today were right on the money. I've never have done this before but I'm happy with my progress and the look of it.

Yep spring back does apply. Couple things to make is easy: figure out where you shoe starts to make bends and mark it. I also use 2) 36" pieces of 1/8" flat bar bolted at one in for a large scale angle finder. Typically I will lay it on top after I bend to confirm angles. Something else to consider, I took a 3" square tube (3" long) and drilled a corner for a peice of all thread, welded a nut inside. I use this for compound bends along with a angle finder. Your gettin it though!!!!!

Looks great! If it's there for safety more than appearance, you may want to consider a little triangulation.

I plan on it. I don't plan on putting it on its top.
Grease side down clean side up

Got the mounting plates cut and holes punched tonight.

I was able to get it all mocked up and bolted down to the bed of the truck. I forgot to think of the tailgate but it shut just fine.
All that I have left is.
1. supports under body to frame
2. Finish welding the seams.
3. Add tire carrier
4. Adding 2 triangles minimum
5. Tabs for lighting
6. Tab for CB antenna
7. Tabs for tie downs
8. Anything else I can think of that I might need

Looks good, do you hunt? The wildlife guys run small winches up high in the back of the bed so they can load up game.

I see. I noticed those.

Nice roll bar, wish I had a tubing bender for my front clip.

Got some more done today. I got the supports under cut and mocked up along with 1/2 of the spare tire mount. I also got the axle stub shaft cut down for the tire to attach.
It was so much fun cutting the axle shaft. Took me forever.
I'm hoping to have it done with in a few more weeks.

As far as hunting I do and I had a plan for that down the road. Was thinking of making a mount that will attach some how somewhere some way lol. I'm just glad it's going half way smooth.

Great work!

Spare tire - I'd mount it as low as you can to keep the Center Of Gravity low and below your rear view mirror. I like the idea!

Game hoist - You could always mount a winch low and use a pulley attached to a steel loop on your top bar for height.
1973 Bronco, 351 SEFI, Locked, discs, 35's ZF-5spd and Atlas 4spd. 235:1 Crawl Ratio. It may be ugly, but it's slow.

Thanks !

Spare tire - I mounted it that way so I can put all my extra parts box, gas can, fluids box and tool box. They will all fit under.

Good idea on hoist

I was able to work on it. I got the under supports primed and painted. I also got the other two pieces mocked up and ready to weld. Now all I have is welding grinding and paint. It's getting closer especially when this has been a 4 year project oh (the electrical tape is Custom)
