Engine Identification
I am trying to figure out exactly what engine I have to make parts buying easier. I am going to be replacing some seals sometime in the future. I always feel like an idiot at the parts store. "Car make and model? Well....." Looking at old paperwork it could be an 80 - 85 model 302. Supposed to be an 80's model mustang 302 as per the p.o. It has an oil pan with two drain plugs, one front and one rear. Mustang? I pulled the starter to look at the numbers on the engine. E0AE D3C 8 3B2? I have been trying googling decoding. I have not been able to figure out what it all means. A model 80 car 302? Appreciate the help!

Re: Engine Identification
Appears to be a 1983 casting. 3B2: 3=1983 B=February (B is the second letter in the alphabet, Feb is the second month) 2=day of the month it was cast.
Should still be a 28oz balance motor. Actual vehicle application isn't too important until you get to a water pump or oil pump, in which case you can just ask for something from a Bronco.

Re: Engine Identification
Ahhh that's what the 3B2 means. Appreciate it! I'll have to study up on the balance. Thank you again!
