Help!

looking for some advice.
I just completed (85% need to weld shock hoops etc) my 3.5" lift late last night and have a little problem.
I have a pretty serious stink bug issue.
with a level on the bed rails it is almost 2" that I have to lift the level to make it actually level.
I double checked the part number to make sure I didnt by mistake have 5" leafs or something and they check fine.
I loosened all the spring eye and shackle bolts and jumped on the truck to see if I could settle them a little.
the springs are installed correctly, double wrap to the front.

The shackles I might be in question on.
I installed them as they came off the truck.

the truck had 2"+ coils on the front with stock rears and sat level?????

could a shckle flip lift the truck?

If somebody has a pic of theirs they know to be correct let me know, I just assumed they were right.

truck has no top or rear seat right now but that should no way sag it by 2".

Hopefully somebody can clue me in so I dont have to feel like an idiot if I have to call the Bronco Hut tomorrow, for her to tell me to flip my shackles or something stupid.......

Those shackles are on correctly. A heavy front bumper and or winch will cause the front to sag some.

Is it sagging to the rear or to the front? Front tilt is typical as there is a lot more weight up there. I have it also and I actually prefer the look. If it's sagging to the rear then most likely you have the wrong leaf packs.

I am not an expert but I have heard of the 11 Pack Springs being stiff. I have read on ClassicBroncos that they have removed one or two of the Packs and made the righit softer - whis MAY help lower the vehicle as well. This sounds like a job for one of our Guru's. This should be one of the funnest Bronco upgrades and then this happens - sorry man.

BTW I would call Melissa - she doesn't mind questions (I have asked a ton of silly questions) and this is a serious question.

Sorry for not being clear.
it sags in the front, back end is high.

I know they do this a little from the factory but it is pretty severe.

weird thing is that I did my 76 with this same kit and it sat level.
only weight diff is the hard top and back seat, but that shouldnt make that much of a weight difference I wouldnt think??

The topper will make a difference...that's a couple 100 lbs right there. Can you post a pic of your rig? I'm interested to know if it looks like mine after the lift.

The Cage would add some weight as well - is that installed?

This isn't a perfect side shot, but you can definately see the forward rake. This is with new 11 pack 2.5" leafs and 2.5" coils.

Talked to Melissa at the Hut.
She said to finish my build ( rear hoop for family, rear seat, bumper with full size spare etc etc)
then see where I am at.
If still to much then we can put in a different (4.5") coil up front and that should resolve any concerns I have with how it looks.

The top is not on it however I plan to run a soft top in the summer so I cant always count on that weight.
She said some guys just have a 3.5 and 4.5 set of coils and change them winter/summer as their gear and weight of accesories change.
we'll see.

Had to be to work really early this morning so no working on it last night.
have to finish the pitman arm hookup and go through and torque everything down.

it sits quite a bit higher in the rear than yours does.
I dont mind a little its just too much right now and maybe more than I thought a top and bumper would settle down.

update.


after moving the truck out into the street where I could view it from a distance vs in my garage, and on level ground, my garage slopes decently and the angles were amplified by that, I think I will be good to go.

Add a few heavy pieces and it should settle in.

just a little panicked that something was wrong. just too many late nights in the garage.
I am going to try my dangdest to get this thing road worthy for sat morning but it is looking slim as I may not have all the shock mounts and welding done by then.......

Sits perfect. So happy it all worked out. I love the color, hood, lift, etc. - Looks great!

I think you'll be surprised how quickly it will level out once you get the rest of your build items on. When I add my trail gear/spares box to the back of mine it drops it quite a bit. So it doesn't take too much weight to make a difference.
