Postby Unaweep » Fri Nov 11, 2016 4:07 pm

My power steering pump is leaking a lot, recommend to me a place to have it rebuilt.

Viper wolf does not rebuild these, and I would prefer a company that specializes in these pumps.

So... Can you guys help me identify what I have? Viper wolf recommended to just buy a rebuilt one, and I assume this would be the core in exchange.

Is that the pump or the actual steering box? If it's box, you can have it rebuilt by West Texas Offroad. If it's a pump, just swap it like Viper said.

I haven't use this place myself although my friend had them rebuild his XJ pump along with taping it for Hydro-assist and said he was very knowledgeable and the price good.

It's the steering box, I think the pump is ok..

Thanks....and (semi) local.

That's what I was looking for.

I parked the bronco at my moms and she put a pot under the leaking unit.

I do rebuild steering boxes. I don't rebuild pumps.

You appear to have a '74 Bronco power steering box.

I have a Viperbuilt Bronco steering box and can approve of the work done-- very tight steering!

Thanks for all the replies...

I just realized that I made a huge error in posting and responding to the thread.

I was thinking steering BOX, but I kept using the word PUMP. Sorry.
