408 Stroker Build

Postby pgilbeau » Thu Mar 02, 2017 10:25 pm

Picked up a running roller 351W from a wrecked 95 F-150 and plan to build it into a 408. Its going to be a slow build because its been about forever since I have built a motor and I plan to swap it into the Bronco next winter. The only plans I have currently are the size and that I plan to ditch the factory fuel injection and run my current Fitech EFI. Going to be starting the disassembly process and start researching options for internals, cam, etc.

I picked it up from Dan's Auto Salvage in Colorado Springs, it is actually down the street from Don Allison's yard. A mutual friend linked me up with Dan and I was able to go see it running in the truck before they pulled it. I paid $400 for it complete (not sure if that was a good deal or not), but I think he normally charges $550-600. I don't know what he still has because it seems like he is scaling back, he sold the two lots by Don's but he still has a couple more lots.

That was a decent deal for a roller.

It really hasn't gone beyond starting to strip off the front dress and fuel injection. Got too many other priorities like finishing my last semester of school and getting the Bronco back on the road. Should be back on this after graduation.
