I need some welding help...

Postby TOOLMAN » Fri Jun 23, 2017 9:05 am

Does anyone have some time to weld in a small angle between the floor and kick panel? Whenever I hit a bump now the whole passenger side dash bounces. You can see where it's tearing the floor. Just trying to limp this body through until I can get the other tub going.

Or, does anyone have any better ideas?

I'm on Parker, if that is close, and can hook you up, looks pretty rusty, likely going to need a patch panel to tie it together.

Agreed, that looks like the pre-cursor to what happened to my drivers side kick-panel. Anything you do will most likely be just a stop-gap until you decide to replace the kick-panel and floors. Granted, a good stop gap might last a long time. :) It really depends on how rusty the metal around it is and how far back you will need to cut in order to weld to something good.

I'm in Erie and could help but it would need to wait until after 7/4 if that works better then heading out to Kinder's place.

I can weld it. I have plenty of stock laying around. Will have to be after the weekend.

Thanks for the responses fellas. This would be a stop gap until I can get my other tub done. Planning on wheeling a little next weekend and don't want to totally tear that section of the body apart bumping around.

I'll be in touch!
