P/S pump improvement

 P/S pump improvementI'm plumbing my P/S, h-boost & 4x4x2 box with AN hose. I'm installing a new pump body into a dual return reservoir. I know I've read there is a way to increase the pump output, but can't find it now.
I've run h-boost for years, but am upgrading to the 4x4x2 box, dual return & a p/s cooler. I'm planning to add hydro assist in the future, but not now. Very rarely, with my old set up, the power steering would be dead right after start up, so I figure now is a good time to put a new pump in. I recently bought a used/never run WH pump & bracket planning to put it into my 72. But I figured I'd rob the pump from it and put it into my 74. _________________ "America is at that awkward stage. Re: P/S pump improvement Ok, so why would the new reservoir only have 1 bolt holding it to the pump? The Tom's pump & WH pump use 2. I figure I need to drill a second hole & use both bolts. Or will it be ok with only 1 bolt?
And the WH pump uses metric hardware to attach the pump to the reservoir & bracket, but the old Tom's uses standard hardware. Just different stock applications? Re: P/S pump improvement If I remember right I was going to carefully drill a second hole, I never understood that either because the pump had the threads. Also I believe the later p-pumps were metric vs. the older standard ones.

Re: P/S pump improvement You can see the spot where it would be drilled. I was wondering if 1 bolt & the outlet fitting was adequate. I'm guessing there was some application with that set up, and it probably worked.
What is a p-pump vs the older pump? Are they higher output? Is it the Delphi pump WH is advertising? I've emailed them to see if they can ID my pump as a Delphi vs Saginaw. I didn't know there were 2 versions. https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/H ... ring_Pumps Mine looks like this one, but the shaft measures .690 at the end (pulley is installed), not .75. Re: P/S pump improvement I did this on my Saginaw, including drilling out the hole. It worked great with the 4x4x2 box and hydroboost, but couldn't always keep up at low speeds after I added the ram. Parking lots where I used the brakes sometimes meant diminished power steering.
