Custom dash panel opinions

Postby rooster » Fri Dec 15, 2017 1:48 pm

Hey all, I made this panel for my dash and I wanted to get some opinions before I proceed with it, the piece I made this out of is pretty pitted, I was gonna put some heavy primer on it but I actually kinda like it.
I was kinda thinking of clearing it , also was thinking of hindging the panel but don't know if it would be worth the effort

Are you considering moving the glove compartment in 3 to 5 inched to clear a roll bar?

i actually painted my last dash with a hammered paint specifically for the texture. Nothing like a nice, smooth painted dash that the keys rub a arch into!!!

I wish I could figure out how to post a pic on this thread. I just finished my new dash, cleaned it up a lot, and had it powdercoated the same color as my rollbar. I rewired a vintage air heater control valve so I could use a rocker switch to allow more, or less hot coolant to the heater core.

I hinged mine but forgot that I was going to put a full family cage in it. So...hinging is cool, but a waste of effort for me!
