Toyota nissan power steering box...
Anyone out there running the toy/nissan box on a 66-75? How do you like it? Any good writeups out there? I am just too much of a cheapass to go with one of the high dollar kits

Re: Toyota nissan power steering box...
If you want to go cheap the absolute best way is going to be with a 4X4X2 box. Basically take a 1978/79 F-150 or Bronco steering gearbox and swap the guts with a ranger, bronco 2 or a full size ford trucks steering gearbox. Probably the strongest box out there and probably the easiest swap. The F-150/bronco box can be a little hard to find but I know a guy that would probably sell you one pretty cheap. The other gearboxes are everywhere.

Re: Toyota nissan power steering box...
I got a box off of an xterra and the bottom holes are the same but you need to fab up the top two, plus the xterra pitman arm doesn't work because the center link goes though the top and the nut is on the bottom. Which means cut and welding pitman arms together. I now its been done but I am not a fan of this. So I am going with the box conversion, as crawler described. If you want the xterra box its yours. Oh yeah the spines are different for the pitman and steering shaft as well
