Nice looking trailer! What are the specs?

What controller do you have?

So I just got an early B day gift from my wife she booked a condo for Moab. Now the heat is on to finish my Bronco in time to take it to Moab this year.

Its a 20 footer with 5200lb axles and drive over fenders in case I ever need to stick a dually on there or if somebody busts a full width rig and I have to drag them home. I wanted an 18' but found a deal on this 2 year old trailer. I have a Tekonsha Sentinel controller that came with my truck. I have never used it but the reviews I am reading on it are not that impressive. I guess the primary complaint is that they do not preform well in a hydroplane situation. I just printed off the instructions so that I can try to get it set up. What do you run / recommend for a controller? I have driven thousands of miles with trailers with and without brakes but the brakes were always set up by someone else. Any tips on setting it up?

That'll be a nice trailer! Only experience I have is with the Tekonsha Prodigy. That one gets rave reviews! For that one, you hook up your trailer and start driving, pull the manual gain until you feel it grab pretty hard and it adjusts automatically.

I've never had to worry about hydroplaning while pulling, so if you can get yours dialed in, I'd say use it. You'll have more concern on icy in CO that on rain and by the time you get your 4000lb bronco loaded up on your 2500lb trailer on skinny tires, it won't be easy to hydroplane.

I also run the Prodigy, I swap it between my truck and bronco often asking it to control my dual axle flatbed and single axle bronco trailer, it handles both without a hitch and no adjusting.

I got an email from John Godman regarding the Bronco safari. I am unable to open the file on my Mac. I would assume that the email went out to all who registered for the Safari. What was in that email?

Was it titled "news" ?

I have received about 10 of these emails this week from various people.

It's some kind of robot computer spam mailboat thing-of-a-majig.

It's probably ok if the temps are warmer than it's been since you filled it. The fluid expands a lot when it gets warm and most people tend to overfill them. Check the level when it's really hot.

It's related to a new converter I just had put in. Typical story -- New EFI, so now the converter is too tight and I need a new converter. Put in new converter, now I lose 3rd gear in transmission. blah, blah, blah. So tiring, but when she runs...she runs soooo gooood! LOL

It looks like we will have a "Colorado Classic Broncos" dinner on Thursday night, May 1st.

Scott Barnes graciously offered to let us have it at his rental house. Scott is the guy who recently picked up a Big Oly replica here in Denver and will be racing it in the Mexican 500 this fall. You can follow their adventures on Facebook at Vintage Bronco Racing.

The dinner will be a burgers and beer deal with everyone bringing a side dish and their favorite beverages.

We'll get some details out soon but I just wanted to let everyone know to save the date.

I will get the burgers for this.

We need to start getting a head count and a list of things people will bring (chips, condiments, etc)
