Was there anyone else who had tried breaking trail before you guys? How far did they get. That is always one of those trails that people start up and realize that they can't go far without the right stuff.

Right about here is where the last folks had broken trail to:
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=38 ... o&t=w&z=18

Someone was up past where we stopped, but it was before the storms. There was ice under 2ft of snow at the end and it was consistent with vehicle width.

Yeah, ask that guy in the stock GMC yukon about having the right rig. He nearly tore off the front bumper crossing the creek. He did make it, but he was a few sammiches short of a picnic for crossing it in the first place. So many people get stuck in that creek crossing. Rescued an FJ last year.

Sorry again about dropping that. Atleast you didn't run it over like I did mine awhile ago.

Amazing isn't it? I was up there one year and there was a guy with a long bed, quad cab Chevy pick-up with street skins straddled across the trail. He was stuck sideways and was begging people to pull him so his nose was pointed out and then wanted to have whom ever to pull him all the way down the trail. Just baffles me. Kind of like Chrysler and their "Trail Rated" saying. If you believe that, like George Strait said, "I've got some ocean front property in Arizona".

I like the way that Ty just kept slowly churning forward. Those were some mean azz tire chains.

I don't know how many miles each of us has spent going literally no where. Well, ok no so much as chains have only been in our arsenal for a couple years now, but once you get the chains out, that's generally how progress is made.

A couple more videos.

This one is from the group shot to somewhere down the road before the camera battery gave up. I used the stability filter on youtube, not sure if it made it better or worse...
