Thanks for the information, I won't bother with chains then. I was just curious how many members ran them. I'm also a big fan of a lot of skinny pedal to get through snow. Just need to find some now.

Anybody in? I am going either way. Current plan is to meet up at the exit to saint Marys Alice just past Idaho springs and head up from there. Post up if you are coming so i make sure to wait for you!

I will be there. What time?

Does this look correct? "Take exit 238 toward Fall River Rd" Are you going to be waiting there?

That is the correct exit. I will be waiting right off the exit in the dirt parking lot. 10am work? No top or doors on mine make me prefer a little late start like 10 to let it warm up a little!

Oh and mandatory pics too.

Really airing down and keeping momentum will get you a long ways in the snow. HP helps some too! And clearance, and....

I'll have my GoPro mounted and hopefully have some good footage. I'm not the greatest cameraman though.

Anyone else joining us?

I am awaiting a response from my uncle about going. I would guess he is in right now but will post up when I'm sure. He is in his full size bronco with a solid axle conversion, 35s and locked front and rear. Should be a good trip!

Anyone else? Kirk??

I might get off early tomorrow, let me know if you want a hand taking the camper off. If I'm not working I'll swing by.

You're in right Justin??? It is supposed to be a warm sunny day tomorrow! With the snow we saw here yesterday I'm sure we're in for a good bashing session! I am still guessing on there being too much on this trail so if there is I know of a few other places around there that should be passable, challenging and fun.

That sucks! I've been sick all week too, was just hoping I'd be better for this trip and I am feeling much better, luckily. I hope you feel better soon!

Not going to make it. The truck is ready to go and I've been looking forward to it all week, but the wife managed to get the norovirus that's been running around our place for a couple of weeks. Have fun! Kirk, hope you're feeling better soon.

Early trip report...broke my front axle. It took me all of 15 minutes once I got on the trail. I was able to limp home without any trouble which was good.

Time to upgrade some components? =)

I may have over exaggerated how much pedal I was using. I think it was just a stressed part. I'm going to have to tear it apart soon to see how much damage there really is.

We have all felt your pain. Took a truck that saw little to no offroad use, and start doing more serious stuff and the old parts that haven't been used go snap.

Make sure the ears on the shafts are good. The bad part about a u-joint break is it often takes out both axle shafts. Then you can damage the seal re-installing, which is not good. Can-o-worms...

what do you mean gone? the total snow fall for this month alone is 23" double of the average march snow.

But yes when are we planning to go? How about 2 weeks? same deal as crawlercreations. head up fall river road to fall river and chinns lake?
