We had a great time with fantastic weather. Kirk got to retrieve a Jeep! This guy decided to play in the mud which was not on the trail. He had to wait for us to finish the trail before we could help him, so he spent most of the day trying to get out and then waiting for us. When we got to his Jeep, the Forest Service was there taking names and info. Don't know if he got a ticket, but a good reason to always Stay The Trail!

Had to attach a picture and video of the grandson-first wheeling trip! I know he had fun!

Good times! Silly Jeep, all the smart Bronco owners stayed out of the mud, we all knew better. When we pulled up I quickly chatted with the FS dude and initially he was going to fine the Jeep owner $300, I asked him if it was okay to yank him out and he said good idea and then just gave him a warning.

Other than that drama the day was beautiful, really nice to meet Matt and his buddy Mo. Also nice to wheel with Doug, Sarah and their grandson Ty, it's been too long since I've seen them. The trail was mild and easy to get to, I think it was just what we were looking for.

I still think we need to have some "I was rescued by CCB" bumpers stickers printed and make application of one the price of recovery.

Nice work! Seems those Jeep guys have more bad apples than most brands, but percentage wise - maybe it's about the same...
1973 Bronco, 351 SEFI, Locked, discs, 35's ZF-5spd and Atlas 4spd. 235:1 Crawl Ratio. It may be ugly, but it's slow.

We'll need to reschedule this for a later date, looks like the FS has some roads closed due to water damage. I'll start looking for alternatives for the 25th & 26th, maybe a trail between FairPlay & Brek.

My next opportunities to get out of town will all be scouting and camping trips for the upcoming elk season IVO Meeker. If any wants to join me on those let me know.

Okay, when I head out to go scouting north of New Castle I'm thinking of taking an off highway route that would include Weston Pass and Hagerman Pass. It would turn a I-70 3 hour drive in to a 7 hour drive if I tackle both passes at the same time.

Anyone interested in joining me for a portion of the drive, maybe just the pass sections? I tried to do Hagerman Pass 2 years ago when I went hunting, but was blocked by a snow drift as big as a semi. Bushducks.com says it's been opened up by a Caterpillar this season.

I'll be heading out early on July 30.
