Wrench day - March 25th

Postby phyler » Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:31 pm

Ok, Spring Break plans changed last minute which has freed this Saturday up for me to work on the Bronco. Anyone willing to help? Here's my project list:

1. Setup ZF5 with the adapter and ideally get it installed in the Bronco (hoping this is straight forward as I have a big hole in the tunnel from the NP435 that came out already)
2. Finish cleaning up the D20 and do a quick reseal and cut it (J-style) for twin sticks
3. Start mocking up what is needed for the cross member
4. Install Clutch Master Cylinder and attach to pedal

I have other things to do but these are my top priorities right now.

Let me know. Happy to DM my address if you want to come over. I can start early, buy lunch, etc.

Thanks!

I can help. I’m not sure how you plan to do #1 on your list before #3?

Can do it in any order, really just want the ZF in by the end of the day if possible. Was thinking that I could modify the existing cross member to fit and then just have to bulid the mount to the frame (or drill/tap new holds).

I can have metal on hand and I have the rest of the metal fab tools.

I think you still remember where I live. Text me if you need the address.

We struck out hard today. 6 hours of labor and the trans ended up back on the floor where it started. It just did not want pop in to place. Using longer bolts, we got it seat once but didn't have the plate in and when we tried to space it just a bit, it popped out and we had to start again.

I'll hopefully figure out a day in April and will text you prior.
