Bill Moore Lake, Mill Creek and Spring Creek 7.6.13

Postby Justin » Sat Jul 06, 2013 9:20 pm

Hit the trail with Landshark today, had a blast. We went up Mill Creek first. It;s a great easy to moderate trail that might have been even more fun run the other direction from the way we went. Then headed up to Bill Moore. This might be a great spot for a club BBQ, family day, etc. Fairly easy trail with some stunning scenery. Since the tires were already aired down and we still had some time, we ran Spring Creek. I was last on it as a passenger about 8 years ago, it's a bunch worse than I remember. It seems to have gotten dug out quite a bit, with more exposed rock. I was able to clear all the obstacles except the first one. Got about halfway up that one and was on enough of an angle that the carb had problems. Drove the first half of it, then took the bypass for the second half. Landshark, of course, walked up the entire trail with only minor (and minimally competent) spotting. The only carnage was some tire cuts and a minor toe issue on Landshark's rig. Many thanks to Landshark for shepherding me on my first Spring Creek run! Pics from Bill Moore:

Had a great time and the weather couldn't have been better!

I only took a few pictures and have a movie clip or two but nothing too special...

Stuff is too low.. hit it on multiple rocks.. a couple of times.. came down on one probably caused both TRE's to bend.. Good news is they are warranted.. so new ones on the way

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like a nice busy day. How was the creek on Mill Creek?

Not bad at all, maybe a foot deep or a little more.
