Weekday Wheelers

Postby Kinder » Sun May 11, 2014 4:56 pm

Current as of 27 Aug:

I'm going to go scout around GMU 38 tomorrow and Friday since I picked up some leftover doe tags, anyone want to tag along?

I'll mostly be hitting trails N of I-70 and W of 119; Bill Moore (plus Red Elephant & Mill Creek) and Yankee Hill (plus related trails - Miners, Sheridan, Cumberland & Kingston).

Okay, so you say you work every weekend and never get to go on a wheeling trip, well I recently joined you. My new job will NEVER give me a weekend off so I thought I'd start up a thread for foks who want to go out and get dirty during the week. My usual days off are Wednesday and Thursday, but not always. So who is in the same boat as me?

Later in the summer I would be able to swing a day here and there during the week for sure

Weekday Wheelers

Postby Kinder » Mon May 12, 2014 11:51 am

I'm looking at reports of trail run snow, I'm trying to make sure it doesn't turn into a snow run.

lots of reports of snow still. Yankee hill is still closed. you can get to jenny creek trail head but it's snowed in right away. Mammoth gulch still snowed in. Bill moore still snowed in. and im sure theres others but thats what i've seen. Slaughter house gulch is open and snow free Before yesterday/todays snow.

Slaughter house should be snow free by then. May have a little bit of mud. I live a few blocks away so I can run a quad over and check it monday the 19th.

Have you looked into trails that are usually snow free like Chinamans, the gulches west of C'springs etc? Not as close, I understand...

But snow bashing is a LOT of fun!

I'm looking like I may be open to run Slaughterhouse Gulch with my grandson. Still haven't got the hall pass for him. Is the 29th still a go?

Yea! Mom gave us the hall pass! So Ty (5 yr. old grandson) and Sarah will be my passengers. Would it be okay to invite another friend? Unfortunately, he drives a Jeep.

Looking forward to taking the grandson on his first 4-wheeling adventure! See everyone at Loaf N Jug.

Of course, you know we aren't vehicle specific when we wheel, I often invite my buddy MJ (rocks a Jeep) along.
