Fun Ford Weekend June 22nd.

I only see a couple of Broncos run the track every year but it would be fun to see more. I know a few of you go to this for the car show every year. Didn't a member here win the truck category last year?

Anyway, I plan on running Project Whitetrash in 2 classes again this year. Like every other year, we will be smokin ribs the night before and also grilling burgers and dogs in the pits. I am extending the offer for all club members and their families to come hang out and eat some good food while you're there.

If you plan on coming up just post up that you're in so I can get a basic of idea of how much food and drink to bring. My wife will probably have my cell if I'm in the staging lanes so she can guide you to the correct pit. 720-58TUNEZ

I'll be doing a mad thrash on my car. Gotta get the blower back and it along with fuel system installed and tuned. Maybe just maybe I'll have it there this year. I'll probably get kicked out for running too fast I hope.

This is the second time I have heard of Project Whitetrash and still have no idea what it is.

Yeah I never make it past the first round either, that's why I run 2 classes, guaranteed 6 passes. Last year I broke out by .001, just my luck I guess, but still fun.

This is Project Whitetrash:

I bought the rolling carcass for $1900, I've put maybe $1500-$2k more in to it. Almost every thing on it has been sourced from a bone yard or Craigslist. I've been trading a lot of tuning time for parts as well. I've been going as cheap as I can on this one. The only real goal is to make it fun and stay cheap.

Specs are: 91 shortblock, GT40 heads, Explorer upper / lower / TB / serp setup, TrickFlow TFS1 cam, Navigator 24#'s, 73MM Maf, Now running Explorer EFI.
Drivetrain: T-5, SN95 spindles, Cobra rack, Corvette front brakes, Lincoln disc 8.8 rear with 3L73's that will get changed out for Cobra IRS soon.

I also have plans for E-85 and boost in the future.

Thanks for making me miss my 89 GT. I'd just gotten over that.

I also had an 89 GT. Loved that car. I'll never get over it because it was stolen out of my driveway about 7 years ago. I'll get another one eventually.

I might make it to the Ford Weekend, Gotta check my social calendar.

Well I wont be there racing. Just got some bad news today. the Kennebell I shipped out to get rebuilt is "non repairable" and the worst thing to any car guy is to downgrade and go backwards. Back to my old stock blower again. Crappy goin from 700hp back down to 500hp.

That's a bummer!

I'd still run with the Heaton, it's more fun than not running at all.

I picked up a set of slicks this weekend, used C/L score. I had to drive to Castle Rock to pick them up, it was raining hard and traffic sucked. When I got there the guy had them stacked on the ground up against the wall. I checked the top one out pretty good, glanced at the bottom one and threw him some cash. I tossed the top one in the back of the Explorer and he was nice enough to carry the bottom one out.

Last night I ordered some wider rims for them. Today I just noticed the belt showing on the one he carried out, must have had the bad spot up against the wall! Needless to say I'm a little pissed, I don't know why people do crap like that. I'd like to give it the discount tire return. Oh well, I'll use them for mock up and practice my launch a little while I wait for new ones to show up.

Got a few last minute preparations done : smokin

I wanted to get some tuning time in on the car today, but had some pretty scary mechanical issues to sort out (and underwear to wash). Looks like I'll have to finish tuning while waiting for the gates to open in the AM.

My wonderful wife decided to make baked goodies for breakfast tomorrow as well. There should be plenty for anyone that want's to swing by.

I am Not gonna make it. After breaking a rocker arm stud durning my fist tune attempt. then finding out my rockers are hitting my rocker studs at full lift I pushed the mustang back in the corner and started to pout. Good luck!

It was good to see you too.

I was a little disappointed with the times I put down, but I still had fun. Even made it past the first round for once. The taller tires really took me out of the torque range. Instead of running through the traps at the top of fourth gear I was red lining through in 3rd. At least I did something besides work for the weekend.
