Middle Saint Vrain

Has anyone done MSV this year? I'm probably going tomorrow (Monday), but I can't find any reports. Or if you know a reliable 4x4 trail site, that'd be great.

Thanks!

I wish I could go, stupid school, I’d ask over at Colorado4x4.org if anyone has done the trail recently.

some friends got a permit to go up to red deer lake. I've been wanting to check that off my wheel/fish list for a long time.

I haven't done it this year. You should be joining us in Buena vista. We are camping right on the Arkansas river. Great fishing at camp.

BV sounds like a blast. Timing doesn't work for me.

MSV was a quick great trip. I wheeled up to the Coney Flats turn and parked. We set up base camp and hiked up to Red Deer Lake the following morning. Uhhh, the hike was a lot longer than I thought. It was about 3 miles to the lake with the last 1.5 mi on a pretty good uphill grade. The lake fished well. Nothing big but the kids had fun. That evening we wheeled back out the way we came in (through camp Dick). When we got back to the lot I shut it down to wait for the rest of the group and It wouldn't start up again. After some testing it looked like the solenoid wasn't working. I jumped the solenoid and it fired right up. I asked a solenoid question on the tech page.

Even the solenoid, I'd definitely do it again.
