How about a parts truck?

http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/5442138370.html

Correct tailgate, eyebrow grill, looks like it has a horn button with ring, uncut dash.

Seller says it has no title but "matching glove box and title" in lieu of the original '66 title. Could probably talk him down a little or part it out and make some cash back off of what you don't use.

If I wasn't busting my butt to get the 74 running for the summer, I might consider that. There are some good 66 parts on it, but the only thing I really need from that truck is the horn ring. Not to mention $4k for a parts truck.

I'm still questioning my sanity adding this restoration to my project list, I don't need to add another vehicle part out to the list too. LOL. I just bought a set of four fake Bronco hubcaps (52/53 Merc) for $75 on Ebay. I'll run a repop horn button and be happy. I need to keep this realistic and under control.

Keeping Molly on board with this is fun.

I get lots of crazy and shrug and :fish: when I start showing her pics of $1000 hub caps. So buying a whole truck for a horn button won't fly. LOL.

No. But he said someone else wanted the ring. And 'it seems 66 horns are hard to find.'

Assuming the body isn't complete garbage...

Title/Glovebox door: 50-100 (up to 500 being asked on cb.com, no way. not right now)
D44: 200?
9" (small bearing most likely): 100?
302/C4/D20: 1000?
Power Steering set up: 200-500?
'66 tailgate: 300
Eyebrow grill: 200-300?
'66 Doors: 400/pair
Uncut '66 dash: 300
Tub: 500
Hard top: 200-300
Frame: 100

Total: 4100, using higher end numbers

Of course, you could just drop the entire tub and body onto a titled '66 frame/rolling chassis and pretty much double that from the time you turn the last body mount bolt. If the engine mounts have already been cut for that 302 to go in, this would be the route I would travel. Looking at the cut on the lower edge of the inner fender, it looks like an early truck. Too bad some tool already punched a hole in the side for a second tank.

In good shape - $500 and up. I have seen them listed at $1500 but that is ridiculous. Honestly I am planning to cut it up and stretch it anyway so I do not need one in good shape.

I wish. That wont even get a non66 ring. If it were in a few weeks, it would he a different story. Expecting my house to be refinanced and a healthy tax refund.
