Wanted stock or other rear bench

Postby Brianut » Tue Nov 30, 2010 7:21 am

Looking for a stock or as wide as possible aftermarket or jeep fold tumble.
something on the cheap to get set up for my kiddos.
My beard bench doesnt look like it will work out like I had hoped. at least until they grow some more.

Lemme know what you might have and how much.
Condition isnt hugely important as there will be kid seats strapped on top of them.

Considering most of our back seats are used to keep the carpet commandos strapped down during rides, I'm thinking of an alternative to a full on, high price back seat. What about a tubular subframe covered in a molded fiberglass shell? Kind of like the seats on a bass boat (the plastic/fiberglass type) but molded in to a lightweight bench that could serve as an uncomfortable for an adult seat, but a sturdy and safe platform for mounting child seats.
Stroppe'd
1972 Sport, 302, 3 speed with old school Duff floor shifter, T shift Dana 20 with JB Fab twin stick, 4.11 gears with Trac-loc, Lincoln hydroboost, Chevy disc conversion, WH gas lift gate shock kit, 33" Duratrac tires on slots and about 2.5" of lift, Stroppe installed: bumper braces, dual shocks on all four corners, GM power steering, trans cooler mount, auto shift column, rollbar.

I think that if priced properly you could sell the heck out of something like that.
I had hoped that my littlest would be able to just use a booster with the new Beard bench as well as my 7 yo.
shes just to stinkin tiny of a kid and the harnesses size and mounting aint gonna be safe.
started trying the bigger kid seat and then it crowds out the older one, not to mention I dont really want to clench down the kid seat into the "Suspension" seat.

Dont think it would be safe and more than likely would ruin a very nice and not so cheap seat.

so that will sit wraped up in the basement until she grows enough to be able to get by with a booster.

Classic69 whadya want for the seat?

Ent: I will PM Cortez as well.

not yet.
just got them on saturday afternoon. Sheesh!

I will have to get some pics as it will be a little while before they get installed.
I gotta finish the hard top so I can keep them protected.
they turned out really nice.
Just sucks that i wont be putting in the the rear bench for a few years.
fronts will go in as soon as I get the top painted and back on.

how about some Rancho 2" front coils and 4 rancho rs 5k's,

I also have my stock track bar and brand new bushings available.
dug through and found a fuel vapor canister and cover
(mounts behind drive seat on smog models)
a filler neck (rear tank i believe)from my 76 with a locking cap.

Did someone mention fiberglass boat seat? Check this out. Boat seat mold 17" deep 17 1/2" wide without upholstery.I built these for my drag boat and never fell overboard.
Might be some liabilty issues but it's a start.
Let me know what you think.JGZ

Classic69Bronco wrote:Why in the world would i want 4 springs and 8 shocks? Ah i get it, how about the trackbar bushings and the e brake cable that i was supposed to get with the springs and shocks. Cool?

Done. Do you need the track bar itself? or just the bushings?
FYI the Ebrake cables are stock length. not sure if you wanted/needed stock or longer. if those dont work I am sure I can sweeten the deal with a little bit o money.
let me know

spank

went in the house at 12:45 this am and up at 5:30, no lack of trying.
spent as much time as I could with the sander and wire wheel getting in all the nooks to get it cleaned up.
welded a bunch of separated seams and cracked metal last night.

the top is/was in pretty rough shape, seems to have been handled roughly as there is very minimal rust. was bummed I couldnt work out a few kinks but figure my neighbors would not appreciate a hammer to a big metal gong after midnight.

I now get to go sit throug a 4 hour training class on "lock out tag out" and hazardous materials class.
gonaa need a slap every 20 minutes or so.........

I can sympathize. 10:30 I was headed home from work. Back up at 5:30 and on my way to work at 6. The '69 is being neglected while I bring home the bacon. Luckily I have a clear night on Thursday to finish getting all the brake stuff installed, possibly pull the intake and reseal it, and figure out my lean issue. Crossing my fingers that I might be able to drive it up to Denver on Saturday for the T4T run.

Time: the only thing money can't buy.

I thik 2" lift would still be able to use stock length, i gues sit depends on your planned use.
If you plan on wheeling the heck out of it then it might hold you back. just around town duties I would think youd be ok.

I havent had one with stock lines and 2" lift that I wheeled.
it was a street truck and did fine for that with stock lines.
