This is a very long shot, but if anyone stumbles across a deal on a ZF5 to Dana 20 adapter please let me know. Thanks!

I was curious to see who'd post that first. The thought has crossed my mind. I figure the adapter would be easy to sell if I go that route. I want to try the Dana first. They're pretty stout and I've got half a set of Tera low gears sitting on the shelf. The Dana is also a bunch lighter and I'm not sure I need the strength.

I think Justin has more weight in link brackets welded to his front axle, than the difference between an Atlas & a D20. LOL.

The fact that an Atlas didn't need an adapter was my excuse to spend more on a transfer case than I paid for my whole Bronco.

Atlas=110lbs dry
Dana 20=79lbs dry

So, yeah, pretty much. Heck, I've probably got 3lbs just in welding wire.

Actually, I'm surprised they're that light. I added up the weight of an NP205 doubler setup awhile back and it was something like 250lbs. It's as much a money thing as anything else. I've got a spare Dana and the low gears, so I figure I'll try that. If I break it, I'll go Atlas then. I'm also trying to keep my rear driveshaft as long as possible so that I don't have to limit droop too much, but I'm not sure if the Atlas is longer. I would need to keep my speedo, which adds length to the atlas. Gunni, any chance you could measure that? Now I'm curious.

P.S.: You guys suck. I don't need an Atlas...I don't need an Atlas...I don't need and Atlas....

What's another 2 years wait to get the funding for an Atlas?

I bought an Atlas with no speedometer provision (saved almost 2" overall length). I already had an aftermarket speedometer that can use a GPS sensor. Since I went with the 4 speed, I really wanted to keep it all as short as possible. I also went with the smallest spacer that allows the ZF to bolt to the Atlas. They recommend a 1", I bought their smallest a .5". I could have used .25".

What's the overall length of your atlas from mounting surface to the centerline of the u-joint? Their web site lists the length, but doesn't specify if that length includes the yoke. Mostly curious.

Thanks chad! I've heard mixed things on the Dana output. Lots of people seem to be running g the stock one without problems. I've got a spare and plan to carry that for now.
