if you're building a 427 stroker, i would highly recommend going to a C6 instead of the C4, thats alot of torque to be putting through that little C4 in my opinion, and a C6 is bulletproof in comparison
75' bronco, 302, carb'd for now, i'm gathering parts for efi, 3g alternator, saginaw pump, 4x4x2 box, fw hp44, fw 9", N.P. 435 w/ gearbanger shifter, twin stick'd dana 20, 2" BL, 5.5" wildhorses lift, and 35" km2's

Thanks man. I will either be doing the AODE or a Viper built c4 which can handle a 427:)

I have seen plenty of c4's take 800-900 wheel horsepower and torque easily.

in a racing scene ya, i just don't picture it being as reliable for a regularly driven truck not to mention a truck that weighs more and rides on much larger tires, i know you can build em' to be stout, but just to start a c-6 is far stronger and more reliable in stock form, for that much power i would want the best possible, im hard on my vehicles and need them to be able to take it, but im sure viper will hook ya up, like i said just my recommendation

Hows the install on the c6? Is it a bolt up? Any fab work necessary?

C4's were stock in 2wd trucks (including the F250) with engines up to the 351W from about '66 until the early '80's. Many early '70's big cars with the 351C had them. Some of the mid '70's cars with the 400 used them too. Don't let the small size fool you, they are tough if built right.

Keep it cool and you wont have an issue. Heat is the number one killer for an auto tranny. My dads c4 has takin a beating and keeps workin. Pre-cooler its not uncommon for temps to get to 280*

I do know what your saying but I dont think he'll have an issue as long as he keeps it cool.
