head for a '66 170
Hey all,
I'm in need of a head for my 170 (pretty sure a 200 head would work as well) i6. The exhaust manifold bolt casting has broken off one corner of mine. Looking to do a matching numbers resto so I'll need it to the code to be correct C4DE or C5DE would work.
Any help?
Thanks, Jeremy

Not sure how many 6 cylinders are floating around out there.
You might try Don Allison (dalli is his screen name on here, you can PM him) in Colorado Springs, he has a yard with a few 66's. I know I saw a few I6 motors.
Also, I bought a horn button from a guy in KC, MO. His truck was built 10/65. He said he had a full I6 he pulled from his truck. He is on "Early Bronco Drivers" on Facebook., his name is Greg Niemann, you can look him up there.
Good luck.
Chad

They come up from time to time on the national forum (classicbroncos.com). Also, have you tried fordsix.com? Great place for info on Ford inline sixes. Guys often sell their old heads as many upgrade to an aluminum one without the integral intake manifold.

I believe martins auto salvage on US 34 west of greeley has a 66 Bronco. Its mostly gone but last time i was there the 170 was still in it. I have a 200 head but its a 68 or 69.

I have a few 200's around. I will have to look at casting numbers.

Just beware that the 200 head will fit a 170, but may be a different combustion chamber volume/intake manifold volume/valve size than the 170 head. I think there is a section about it in the Ford Falcon Six Peformance handbook. I'll snap a pic and post it when I get home tonight.
