I’m missing the lower part of this one

It was on one of my C4’s for a 302

Needs to be 164 tooth flexplate version.ZOSO wrote:Any auto small block would work. Chris the one you posted is 351m/400/429/460

Yes. A smaller flexplate needs to have the starter moved in so it can still contact the teeth properly. You would notice it if you tried to put a small (157 tooth or less) block plate into a 164 tooth bell. The starter bolt holes won't quite line up.ZOSO wrote:Viperwolf1 wrote:Needs to be 164 tooth flexplate version.ZOSO wrote:Any auto small block would work. Chris the one you posted is 351m/400/429/460
Please explain? Since the bolt pattern is the same how does this plate make a difference? Is the starter in a different location?
Big heavy vehicles got the bigger flexplate. Mustang's in the 60-70's were typically 157 tooth and that even got smaller during the pinto era.ZOSO wrote:Makes sense. So is there specific vehicles or years that are 157? or is it a mix?
