Oil Pan
Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement oil pan and dipstick? The PO put in a chrome dipstick and cross threaded the oil pan.

Re: Oil Pan
The motor is still in. I was planning on draining it and dropping the pan. What is the temporary fix, sealant?

Re: Oil Pan

Re: Oil Pan
Usually the pan threads don't even get damaged. you might just get lucky when you pull the pan and just need the new dipstick. the pans metal is a lot stronger than the tubes mounting nut just like the drain plug. Maybe another fancy schmancy dipstick, a gasket set, oil and filter, pull your pan and clean the threads up with a tap, and reassemble.
