Squatty stance fix?
My '67 is a bit squatty - maybe 3/4" lower in the back and I don't have a heavy spare tire or bumper. Looking to fix it and get recommendations...here's where I'm at.
I have 3.5" Duff coils up front, and 3.5" add-a-leaf in the back, but I don't know the brand of add-a-leaf. I'm wondering if I should go with the matching rear spring pack from Duff to solve the problem, or if I should maybe consider a 4" leaf pack to really get a level stance once I put the rear bumper and a 35" spare on it.
Comments??

Re: Squatty stance fix?
It all depends on how much you want to spend or how low it is. You can try a heavier duty add a leaf. New leaf springs or a 1 inch lift block depending on how much it sags. I did use a 1 inch block on mine, its not ideal but it works till I can save some $krill for good lift kit.

Big bumper and winch on the front and it's fixed.

New Wild horses 3.5" spring packs. They ride better than Duff's (in my experience) and you can get them with no shipping from the Hut:)

Re: Squatty stance fix?
Eric - is that the 11 leaf pack? A better ride would be nice...she'll knock your fillings out right now if you ride in the back seat.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
I've got a long leaf from a set of 5.5" leaf springs that you could try to swap into your pack. I was going to try that, but my driveshaft angle is already very steep, so it's better for me to go down in the rear. I paid $70 to have them shipped to me. Make me an offer if that's something you want to try. heck you could try it first and if it doesn't work, give them back.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
Thanks for the offer J.D. - I'll give that option a little thought. The newer spring pack is a little attractive as they might be a softer ride.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
Adding my leaf will only stiffen the ride, unless you can remove two leafs per side in place of this one. I am looking for options myself and I know how expensive new leaf packs are.
BTW - I called Alcan Spring and they would get me a new 6-leaf pack for $250 per side.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
How well did that hold up? I have always been told that re-arcing them is a fairly temporary fix as they will settle back down.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
I wonder if drivetrain can replace just two leafs in my pack... I might have to give them a call. They did a great job on a driveshaft for me.

Re: Squatty stance fix?
Go with the WH ones they ride great. I have the 5.5 and love them. They flex great and ride real nice in the back. Big rear bumper with a 35 spare full cage and hard top. Call them up and see what they can do on a better price or shiping. They are great peps.
