Whats this thingamabob?
I see this in the ignition circuit but don't know what it is.. The ceramic is cracked on one side. thanks Brett

wow now that sure is a thingamabob dang near thinnnngggggajig old school resistor idk spent n hour in my bronco i dont have one any where sorry maybe a way to connect the 2 since they didnt have shrink wrap or that was all they had lieing around in there garage?

That's your Ballast resistor, it controls the amount of voltage going to your coil so you wont fry your ignition system.

Good point to remember, many model Fords had the resister wire instead of a ballast resister. But when that wire fried, a lot of people would install the ballast in its place and run a regular wire. It is a lot easier to change the ballast resister on the firewall/fenderwell than the wire. Something to remember when your working on the section of your project.

All EB's had the resistor wire. It's a common thing to burn up if you leave the ignition switch on too long without the motor running. Easy fix is to replace the resistor wire with standard wire and add te ceramic resistor.
