Quick Fuel Line hose question
After replacing the fuel pump and giving my starter a good work out, I started inspecting the fuel line. Thats when I discovered problem number 1: I'm an idiot (inspect fuel line first). Then I saw problem number 2: the plastic fuel line from the fuel pump to the main tank was touching the header and melted. Therefore, my quick question is: Can I just go to Adv Auto and get 6 feet of fuel line hose and run it from the pump to the main/aux tank switch and get rid of the plastic fuel line? Remembering problem number 1, what line/hose would you recommend on a modest budget. Thanks, Shawn "Gregg"

Best to start shopping around for a stainless steel set. I picked mine up from BC Broncos, but I am pretty sure the other vendors carry them as well.

I just replaced the line from the main to the fuel selector. I think regular fuel line would work fine. I ended up going the OEM route and used standard line out of the main, into nylon tube for the run up the frame, then another length of fuel line to the selector valve. I also bought some heat shield and wrapped it around the portion of the line that came near with muffler on that side.
Like AKAFrank mentioned, stainless would be best...and I plan on doing that down the road sometime.

standard fuel hose will work fine for a while, I just did mine this way.
This fall I plan on replacing it with stainless when I convert to EFI.

Thanks for tips guys. I ended up getting a long piece of galvanized steel tubing from NAPA to run along the frame and used smaller sections of hose for the bends to the pump and valve. Started right up, no leaks! This should hold for awhile.
