Took 3 good friends and went for a nice ride at sunset through Garden of the Gods. Man this new bronco runs GREAT!!! Picking up my 68 Charger on Saturday but it will have to sit for a while while I work on my EB :)

watered the 31's, they grew to 33's

If you look close you will note different tires but close enough for us front and rear.

I was driving down Broadway and noticed a pile of 33's that looked good at a tire store. Went in, negotiated a price ($250 for all 4 mounted and on the Bronco) said get-r-done!

4 good Micky Thompson's... sweet. Drove it 1 mile to the shop and the rt front was flat. Bad tire (split in the side wall) Went back and found 2 other good tires - now have the 33" spare too.

It'l do for now.

Pulled the top off yesterday and have been just driving it a little longer and further from the nest each day. Did about 35 miles total today and had it up to 60-65 for an extended period for the first time. Need to start poking around in the front end as it felt like it wanted to start getting wobbly at those speeds. Cruised well though, Sounded good and felt even better. I still have some work to do to increase the confidence factor but I'm making progress and learning a ton. I'm just enjoying driving it really.

Got my new shocks and steering stabilizer installed along with a new oil sending unit. Now I need to get my seat belts and I can start driving it more. Now I gotta find some 33's that aren't an arm and a leg. JP

cool deal. Do you know how to check end play in your valves? I would do that when your changing the seals. This will tell you if there is too much play and will help you determine weather to rebuild now or not. I would throw new seals on the long block as it has been sitting for so long and you can look it over good while covers are off. Just a lil FYI

took her out on I-25 for the first time and tested at higher speeds...3 spd Hurst leaves a little top end to be wanted but cruised pretty smooth at 60...better than my 66 EB with an I-6 though!

Will put some gas in her and see what my fuel mileage was for the last 115miles +/-. Thank Zack for the phone app...I am excited to see how she does.

Because you guys were (wading?) in the deep end and I wasn't.

When I get my bumpers set up for being yanked out of mud pits I will swim in there too.

YEP all glass, only thing metal is the windshield frame. Its 15 yrs old and has been on its side more then once. Looks kind of good in pics and from a distance, but it has been put back together many many times. Get close and it shows its age and my lack of respect for it.

I had a visitor today whom comes in from sterling to stay here for his treatments for health issues. He has an original halfcab and talked to me for hours about mine and what needs done. I can not wait to see his Bronco. Anyway to show off mine I fired it up and let it idle for a while. I was so happy to just let it idle and listen to it run without missing a beat. As soon as I get settled in here, I can get more work done.

Put new fuel lines on the Cuda as well and cleaned the racing wheels and aired up the slicks.

Brakes - new pads in front. Have to order new rotors - toast!

Need to check the rears - I am fairly certian I need to replace them as well.

And I think that it is the original fluid so a complete bleed is in order as well.

(Still tons of mud packed in and around the rotors from last weekends yankie hill run - imagine that! icon biggin )
