Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Took her for a spin now that she has plates and is all legal Heard some interesting metal on metal rubbing noises while coasting, need to check the brakes. Also ting coolant out of the radiator so I'm wondering if it needs a new t-stat. I may just need to trade a couple of you guys a whole lotta to come look it over with me and help me figure out what all I need to do to get it happy and on the road again.

Well I like the way you think. And having watched the boys launching Free Bird into that deep mud hole... I think i have a pretty good idea who the prime candidate is for it... You might need two.

Last week the engine went from this to this to this- Heads are off getting new springs installed for the new cam. Going with a new Manifold, cam, timing gear, distributor, and water pump. Brett

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got my floor shifter in and working. Then took the proportioning valve out to get the bad line off. Put a new line on and back in then bled and have a good pedal. but there is something wrong with the fronts. This is irrelevant as all of the drum front gets swapped to the 8 lug once I have new calipers and wheel bearings and seals.
I have my rear perches to finish welding down also. then I can work on mounting the shocks.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I barely got the Bronco home tonight. About 3 blocks away it popped and wheezed and then would barely run. I had to pump it to keep it kinda running. Got to the top of our street and it quit. Coasted it down the street and into the driveway and that was it. Popped the hood a bit ago and took off the air cleaner and no squirt into the carb. Turned it over several times to no avail. Either pump is fubar, filter is clogged, or clogged fuel line. It's been running flawless and I was trying to think of anything I might need to do to it before Ouray, now I know what I get to look at this weekend, besides the drive shafts getting dropped and greased and all lube checked.
Wish I had a blanket that could catch the ATF that leaks so I wouldn't have to keep topping it off. Oh well keeps it fresher that way.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I consider every day I drive the Bronco to be a trip to a Bronco event. Never know when I am going to run in to another Bronco...or three.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Installed front seat belts...way overdue. Then rewired alternator to see if that would fix the charging issue. Went to Advance to get everything tested...they closed 5 minutes before I got there. Stoplight screwed me...could see customers coming and going in and out then doors locked when I pulled in...to top it off...got rained on driving home. Had the top off and no rain in the forecast at all. But all is good...just light rain...got it parked and covered before the heavy rain came!
Just nice to actually have some time to mess with the old gal.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
If you run in to another issue with "close to closing time" at Advance and are headed to the store on Nevada and Fillmore, call ahead and talk to Vaughn. Good kid and likes Broncos. Just tell him you "work with Zack and Colorado Classic Broncos". I probably just missed you if you were headed to that store. Was down there swapping out a belt for the Bronco.

Drove it to town today and filled it up with liquid cash. I gotta figure out the gas gauge issue, it reads full for ever then drops to 1/2 quickly. Have a super fourth everyone. JP

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Sounds correct Frank, I replaced the sending unit and probably did not get the float in correctly. Once I start driving it more frequently I will keep up with the mileage. I have already run out of gas and my son nor wife still haven't let me live that down. JP
