I was thinking about crawling under the Bronco to start removing the aux tank but it was just to freakin hot out. Might be able to start it tomorrow night after work or later in the week. Have parts coming from TBP to replace the filler hoses, vent hoses and pick up tube filters. Also ordered a twin stick. Almost ordered the 8 pnt cage kit but that is for later.

took a chance at Pueblo Nationals and bought a mirror that looked like a Bronco mirror. Perfect fit...what are the chances of that...perfect chrome and mirror and paid 5 bucks! I guess ya win a few :)

So...today...mirror installed. Finished painting WS frame and back on the truck. Started tapping out a dent in the front fender with the new in box hammer/dolly set I picked up for 15 bucks off of CL. It sure was nice to have some time to work on the Bronco.

Tonight...planning to drive up to Garden of the Gods in the Bronco to watch fireworks...if Manitou is having them anyway.

Installed new WH Chromoly HD 31 Spline Rear Axles ending a 2 month battle with the old axles with 3 bolt patterns, wheel spacers, tires sticking out too far, front wheel spacers to match the rears, caster, torquing spacers, leaning tires, etc. Really excited how they turned out.

Sent Jim at WH an Email with 3 pics of my rear brake setup and sent ALL the exact parts I needed - correct axles, bushings, seals, bearings, and retainers. I am so dang happy we have WH as a resource and never need to worry about rear axles again.

A BIG thanks to Zilla for pressing the new axle parts today (yes on a Holiday) - luckily I didn't break anything at his shop today. lmao

Picked up my new lower half of the steering shaft from the machine shop (had to have a spot cut for the spring). Perfect fit! I now have an acceptable steering shaft, just need to pick up the U-joint for it.

Got the WH flares installed. Had to remove most of the inner fenders but it worked out ok. Now to the fork lift to see what else hits...

Removed part of my work bench so that my Bronco can back in with the added tire carrier and front bumper so I can fit all 3 cars in my garage.

Got the rear end back in Ol' Blue and the rear brakes put back together too. It seams like the e-brake cables that were supposed to be 5" longer are 5" shorter. I also found out that the drive shaft will need to be lengthened. It should be back on the road by next weekend.

No, next is to see if this thing will start and run. If not we know it ain't in the fuel lines or tanks as they are spotless.

Went to 4Wheel Parts and had a great long chat with Ernie. Little did I know Ernie is a buddy to a former neighbor of mine and even owned my old 83 Bronco for a time. That poor FS Bronco has been through hell. I used it quite hard and it's now been rode hard and put away wet many more times.

Took my kiddos to O'Fallon Park which is just south of Evergreen along the river.

Great summer day of swimming, floating down "the rapids", and water toys.

I had it all shined up so lots of folks came over to ask what year it was and give a compliment.

You guys have been busy this weekend!!

I trimmed up from brackets that were interfering with my rear shackles, did some moving of rear inner fenders to keep the tires from rubbing, figured out how to remove my hard top by myself and put the bikini top on!!

Pulled my steering column and shaft out of the truck, prepped everything for installation of my '72 F-250 column and collapsible lower shaft. The OG manual box has the same spline size as the 4x4x2 box going in, so it'll be a direct bolt up to my PS setup.

A very special Thank You to Rox Crusher for helping me put the finishing touches on the lift kit install. We were able to take a spin down the street under its own power. Still have several things to do to call it complete but I'm sitting in a much better position with Rox's help today.

Just repaying the favor my friend and glad to do it.

The plan now is to lengthen the rear drive shaft and then buy some tires big enough to wheel but small enough to keep from ripping the quarter panels up. Some of the sizes I'm seeing aren't allowing me to go too crazy. I'm also looking at moving the axle back too. I should be wheeling with no problem in Ouray and after that, wherever you want to go!

I installed my roll bar with 4 Bolts during the build to make sure I liked the position with the BesTop, wipers, etc. Last night I drilled and added the other 20 Bolts.

OH OH OH i did something today. I drilled the holes for the seat in the new passenger side floor pans. Also cleaned it out so I can get ready to possibly sand blast the floor and coat it with por15 once I get the driver side floor replaced.
