Post Stock 302 MPG...what do you get from yours?
Just took my first decent ride from the Springs to Englewood for the much enjoyed shop day...thought I'd take the opportunity to check my mpg along the way and got 13.6 mpg. Now I'm curious if thats a good for a stock 302...my 66 had an inline 6 so I'm not even sure what a good number for my 302 is...thanks, Brent

That is good for a carb. How's the alternator working?

The last time I did a serious check of highway MPG, I got around 16mpg at an average of 65mph. I used a GPS to measure distance and speed rather than trusting my 40 year old speedo.

I have an electronic ignition, quadrajet carb, a mild cam that listed mpg as one of it's benefits, and I was running 235x75 tires. Engine was rebuilt last summer. My report is on these boards somewhere.

I'd guess I'm getting somewhere in the high single digits, but my carb needs rebuilding.

When I was carb'd I was getting 10-12 city & 14-15 highway. Now that I am EFI I am getting 12-14 city & 16-17 highway.

Thanks for all the input...

Viperwolf...Its charging perfectly so far. Thats such a huge relief for running around and not always worrying about a dead battery.

Hummm....now if only I could convince my wife that I need to spend one full day per week working on my Bronco...and I havent done a darn thing to my 68 Charger yet besides wash it. I told myself the Bronco gets finished first.

My inline 6 got 9 mpg, and it ran like a top. Just had to keep it floored constantly to keep up with traffic. Never did any highway driving with it though. 4500 rpm at 55 mph not a good equation.
