torque specs for '69

 torque specs for '69Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me what the correct torque specs are for the front drive shaft U-bolts at the axle end (D30) and the drive shaft flange bolts at the tranfer case end (D20)? Same question for the rear drive shaft with a 9" rear axle. I have a shop manual but have not found the correct numbers. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff |

Re: torque specs for '69 I read that overtightening ujoint straps is a primary cause of premature u-joint failure.
1310 and 1330 series joint retention hardware should be tightened to 17 ft/lbs and 1350 joint hardware to 20 ft.lbs. DO NOT over tighten the retention hardware as it will distort the bearing cap and cause the bearings and joint to fail. copied from: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavist ... ndex3.html You probably have 1310s U-joints, I don't know about the D30 for sure but D44s are.
