Broke mine today

It's metal & rubber. The fitting for the MC is larger than the standard 7/16" brake line, but the bottom end is the 7/16". None of the normal parts store site have it on there. Maybe I am looking in the wrong location? Thanks!

At one time I went looking for the brake line adapters. I thought there was no way I'd find them in Gunnison. I was in Denver and looked at about every parts store I could find (Auto Zone, Advance, etc). No one had them. I went to my Carquest (Big A) at the time and they had about every adapter I could imagine, even metric x std. My Napa has them too. They are in the bins behind the desk, not out on racks. Good luck. If you come up short, I have a few m/c lines that didn't fit, from my full brake line kit, and ones I took off when I went to HB. They are all steel lines w/loops, none w/rubber.

I hate to add an adapter (another point to leak), but I have gone down that road a few times. I can get a custom one made, but they are kinda spendy... I'll take it into whistler tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks!

Yeah, I made my own with metric on one end and std on the other when I went HB. I wouldn't know where to find a line w/2 different ends.

Try the Parker store on Garden of the Gods before Whistler. I went there to get a hydro line fixed a few weeks ago and they were great. Knocked it out while I waited and didn't make me feel like I was a non-commercial burden on them.

I called Parker first. I'd much rather give them the business. But they said they don't do automotive brake lines due to the liability...

Dang it! I just trashed our old ones two weeks ago when I'd did the discs. The rubber was cracking but they weren't leaking and would have bought you some time:(

It's ok. I'll run to whistler tomorrow. I have some time before I can do anything with my front locker anyway. I don't suspect this holding up getting my bronco going again.

Whistler is going to be really proud of their lines, especially if they have to make them. I don't even try to replace the stock lines anymore. I buy a pre cut four foot length of 3/16" brake line from Orileys. Usually you can get at least one correct fitting out of the two on it. Wrap it around something with about a 2" diamter three times to give a little flex between the frame and body and then fit it in. You only need to make one double flare and can use your original fittings if you need to. I have a flaring tool if you need one.
