Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Good question....this is my first pull! Maybe someone else can chime in. I do see how once I get it up a few inches, you can use the lever to level out the load so its all in better balance.

I've watched "Car Warriors" and it seems those levelers are the cat's meow! I want to incorporate one into my hard top hoist so I can level it...

I'll let you guys know how it goes on Sunday when I pull it. I raised it up a few inches yesterday to verify everything was free.

I have used it forever and love them.
They are especially useful is you are pulling a motor with the tranny still on it as you can change the angle of the load as needed throughout the process.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Got the new Chomo's in last night and put it all back together. Haven't driven it in a few weeks, but I couldn't resist. The new steering shaft really tightened up the steering! Great control now!! I didn't put diff oil in yet, so I left it in 2WD, but I'll get that done over the weekend and test the locker! I think I am ready for Moab. Some "want to do's", but we'll see how they play out.

What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Socofn and son picked up the engine/ tranny today. I raised the engine up and he backed the truck right under it and I let her down. Worked like a charm! Thanks to Rox for the use of his hoist.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Easy Peasy Airbur! I saw a trick on that Car Warriors show a while back. If you want to get the jack way up, put your should under the lifting arm, loosen the bleeder and push up. Sure beats jacking it up little by little!
I filled the front diff with oil. That's really all I got to do.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Yea...I actually was able to just use my hand and push it up.
I started removing stuff from the firewall and the engine bay in general. Master cylinder, battery, wiring harness, lower steering shaft, wiper fluid res., etc. 76FordBronco stopped by and picked up the bikini top.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I managed to get the old engine out. I should have know that once you start something on these old trucks you find numerous things you want to do. I ordered a twin stick kit last night!! I am going to pull everything from the engine bay and power wash it and then repaint. The whole "since I am there" syndrome could get expensive. JP

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Put in the dash pad. Steel brushed and sanded out a bit of rust and loose bed liner out of the back. Sprayed a $10 can of Dupli-Color Truck Bedliner down as a temporary patch and rust stop until I get really ambitious and get it all taken out and redone. Hope to insulate/sound proof the cab floor and firewall this week and get the carpet installed.

Lined the cab with some hvac self adhesive heat shield/insulation and installed the carpet. Should keep the heat down and quiet things up some, seemed to anyway!

4 turn steering box swap, installed WH track bar riser, lower u joint in the steering rod. Now it's amazing, of course when you update things the next item is always in line... now I notice how loose my steering column and wheel are!

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Well yesterday, I replaced the fuel pump on my ride. I was down at Don's junkyard and got over to my Dad's house and the fuel pump took at crap on me. I was going to originally swap out PS pumps with a saganaw dual inlet, but the fuel pump went out so I did that instead. I'll do the PS pump sometime this week, just pisses me off that the other one went out.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Why don't you buy a brand new Bronco complete switch and just wire the Centech stuff in to it? Or is it already set up that way?

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
The Centech kit comes with its own ignition switch. To use the Bronco switch, you have to use their adapter.
sbolt, I have a Centech kit with its ignition switch. I plan on using my Bronco's switch, so I won't use the Centech ignition switch. If you want it let me know, I'll give it to you.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Gunni, the Centech switch is a 1970 Jeep CJ-5 switch. I called them and asked what it was and the guy was real pissed when I told him what happened. He got pretty crappy with me and I figured that I had nothing to lose so I told him that the switch they used was not a good fit, nor did it hold up that well and it should be better engineered. Didn't get me far but it made me feel better. But sure, if you aren't gonna use it, I'll take it, because the replacement that I got from CSK is a POS. I might have to break down and buy a new EB switch and get the adapter like you are doing.
