Re: Spoke too soon - EFI rough idle
Some more info and a proposition... I pulled the plugs to see if it was really running lean or not and it appears to be running rich actually. I guess the O2 sensors are not reading at all. I don't think its related but #6 looks like there is a little oil on it - I hope my piston rings are not bad. Otherwise, they're pretty carboned up; looks like its running rich. After I pulled the plugs I was curious if the computer was still showing a lean condition so I pulled codes again. KOEO 51,22,53,54,35,81,82,85,84 So it looks like there is a problem with PIN 46 (or all my sensors are bad which isn't likely) and my O2 sensors are not reading at all (wiring?). When I get home I'm going to reinstall the plugs, reset codes and re-run KOEO and KOER and make sure there really is a prob with PIN 46 since this is prob is new. At this point I'm at my wits end. I've replaced the MAF, BP, o2 and computer. I can't keep throwing money at it. Whats it going to take to get this Bronco running. Should I take it somewhere and if so, where? Garage party at my place, beer and food provided?

Re: Spoke too soon - EFI rough idle
I wish I could offer some advice. The only thing I can think of is make sure your battery is charged. During my EFI conversion I also had a bad alternator. At one point, my truck sat for a couple weeks and when I went back to check codes, there were several new ones, due to the slowly draining battery. Recharged the battery and the new codes disappeared. I'm still running with codes that don't make sense, but its running good, so I'm ignoring them.

Can you put it on a charger? I'd be willing to bet (but I don't know for sure)that batteries on the shelf are not fully charged. My battery wasn't bad, just a bit low, it would start & run the truck just fine.

I wish I knew more about the Ford EFI setup I'd offer a hand.
Just checked out your website and took a look at your resto. Nice job.
