Not a bad deal... Not mine. Wish I could afford it. http://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/3961943441.html

Re: 4BT Swap
I agree. After pulling what you would need for the swap, I am sure you could get a pretty good chunk of money back after scrapping.

Re: 4BT Swap
I drove this truck, scary to say the least, throttle stuck wide open and there is absolutely no clutch left. The motor it self is okay and it does have the Ford setup so the adapter is usable. I'd be cautious of the fly wheel if the clutch is that far gone, it is a very expensive item to replace. Steel scrap is going for 120 a ton, not sure of aluminum, you should be able to make $500 plus on scrap but there is no way you'd recoup your purchase price. It's been for sale for over a month now, I'm sure most folks are scared off by the poor condition, oh and it hasn't had a air cleaner on it for some time.
To add a little more info - there use to be around 50 bread trucks in the Hostess yard at 60th & Broadway a little over a month ago, they are all gone now, likely to auction. So if you are looking for a 4bt powered box van the market should get saturated soon and the price should drop.

Re: 4BT Swap
Dang Kinder...I can tell you shopped around for a 4bt. Running a diesel without an air cleaner...scary! I would stay away. That is a costly mistake.

Re: 4BT Swap
I wouldn't store it, I've got a buddy with a space that I could tear one down, I though about picking one up for a future build.

Re: 4BT Swap
I like the way you think. A small 4 cyl engine is much easier to find a corner for than a whole bread truck!

Re: 4BT Swap
I would love to see the look on my wife's face if I brought a bread truck home....
