Hello from Wheat Ridge
Hey guys,
Just got my '70 EB a few months ago. Working hard to get it mechanically sound then will be moving onto interior/exterior. I'm 28 and having fun jumping off into the truck. I see a lot of potential in it. Have rebuilt the carb, adjusted timing, replaced all heater and radiators hose, removed leaky rear main fuel tank, put new tires/wells on it, and last weekend started fighting the oil leaks. Timing cover was cracked so have it off now, while doing that went ahead and dropped oil pan then noticed rear main seal leaking, of course when took main bearing cap off noticed copper. Have bearings on order now and hoping reassembly going smooth (no leaks PLEASE)! Truck runs solid. Had me worried for a minute bc oil pressure was dropping on interstate but installed an analog gauge in it and keeping solid pressure. No smoke or weird noises. Just found this message board a few days ago, glad to be here. Cheers!
Oh yea, I had noticed something funny about the power steering that had been added. Manual box was in there with an assist adapter which made me look into a bit. Last weekend while doing timing cover, took some brake cleaner to the adapter and found a company name. Schrillo Co.......seems these are rare to find. Thought that was neat.

Re: Hello from Wheat Ridge
Welcome! I think I have a spare timing cover if you need it. And I think there is a thread on CB.com about those old school PS setups.

Re: Hello from Wheat Ridge
Welcome aboard.
If you go to Ace or Home Depot they have these cool ratcheting pulleys with rope. You still have to go corner to corner but they are easier and times around the old top.
