My wife thinks that's cute.

Seriously, I'm a little put out that I'd have to take your bumper off to steal those chrome hooks.

I used a product called Frog Skin that is used on snowmobiles. It is a mesh cloth that allows air flow, but doesn't let water through. It comes in different grades of mesh & shapes/sizes.

I got a chuckle about that at the platte river meet. Saw that Jeff still had the ugly grey plug wires he bought in moab on there. He was all about having those purple wires.

I decided to keep my bronco. I have started to work on it again. Goal is to try and get it running and driving by spring if nothing needs to be rebuilt. I cut out the drivers side. Since it's stock height I took my spare from my 79 and am making sure a 37 will fit on stock suspension. So when I go with a 3.5" lift they should clear fine. As of now all will work great. I'll get some pics up later.

un-cut stock suspension tryin to fit a 37.

Front at full stuff on factory bump stop. Tire does rub when turning. I plan to run a 3.5" lift with a bump stop so it wont really stuff this hard.

rear cut out.

rear wheel wells "flaired" at filler neck openings.

rear tire at full stuff. I plan to cut and widen the rear wheel wells 2-4". that will give plenty of room for tires.

I would be happy to have some armchair quarterbacks. Sounds like I have room for about 10. I've got a nice list of mods that I'd like to get done this winter (not counting a possible engine swap). So there should be plenty of opportunity.

The previous owner even left a mini fridge behind so there should even be a few cold ones available for said armchair QB's!

Congrats! Yes, detached is always cool. Noise transfer from attached garages usually don't make other family members happy!

And if you extend your retaining wall up a couple more feet, you have a built-in RTI ramp!!

Today I built and installed my own gear banger. I've been wanting one for a while now so I decided to build it myself and save some money. Everything I used is stuff I had around my house so I spent a total of $10 on another stock np435 shifter I cut up for this. I wanted to keep my shifter in case this didn't work out and also to have as a spare.

I welded a 5/8" I.d. 3/4" wide sleeve to the end of the shifter nub and the same to the new shifter lever. The linkage has a 3/4" I.d. so it fits the sleeves nicely. The 5/8" bolt size probably helps a little with tightening things up. I used a 3/4" shank, 5/8" hole with high misalignment inserts and the new shifter mount. It is a little sloppy but better than I was expecting. I have an idea on how to tighten it up but it doesn't bother me at all right now so I'll deal with it for a while before I think about changing things.

Ya mine is super sloppy. I might mess around with it to see what I can do to get rid of the slop. But it's cold. Brrrrrrr

I know I'm not the only person working on my Bronco! Today I removed my stock front shock towers and built some new shock mounts on my tube core support inner structure. It will allow my shocks to stop bottoming out and make the ride that much smoother. I also pulled my door inserts and shot some color on them finally. Gotta mask them off and shoot the 2nd color tomorrow or Thursday. I also checked it over and found the radiator is leaking out of both end caps. Anyone have a good one laying around cheap? Guess I'll be taking one of my 3 to a radiator shop to be rebuilt. Any suggestions on a radiator shop?
