Built some new tooling for my hood. After almost 20 yrs I had to make some new molds.A few subtle changes and this is what it looks like.

I like the firm lines on the sides now. That is awesome looking. l think when it's time for a hood that this one will be it now.

Tach wire is not a keyed power source.

the booger bronco sat outside all weekend. This morning was -10 at the house. And man was she cranky tryin to start this morning. But all was good and had a good drive to work. I returned her home today and tucked her back in the garage. was a great 5 days driving her but I just cant afford it.

Well, since my last update I have finished installing and wiring my rock lights. They don't have as much coverage as I hoped for but they will definitely help at night. I finished installing my speakers and hooking my stereo back up. I, also, finally installed my tach that I have had laying around for a year. BTW if anyone wants to install some 6.5" speakers in any of their vehicles I now have the required 5.5" hole saw to cut the hole perfectly for them. I put my 6.5" speakers in my kick panels as my narrowed bronco doesn't have much room for them. They fit nicely and sound good there. Sucks having to buy a $45 hole saw to install $50 speakers though. Once I build my bikini top and install it I think I am pretty much done for Moab!

Well didn't do anything to the bronco but made this for the bronco.. build some lockboxes and whatever else.. adjustable for different radius and different size material..

Can you please post up some pics of that brake? I might need to build one of those.

Yeah I have a few more. I built it in a hurry couple things I'd change.. the piece bent in these set of photos is stainless pretty stout stuff. Just mounts to bench vise so far its handled 1/8" diamond plate 20" long. Steel and ally.. don't plan to use it for the big of material tho..

I tweaked the carb a little and the timing, runs pretty good. I will put some miles on it see how it holds up. I need to work on getting a car seat installed and hopefully drive it to the breakfast next week.

Thanks I building another one for the press also so I can do 3/16" 1/4" stuff for brackets I've made one for work and its worn out. I will post it up when done.. will be handy using these for bumpers and cross members lockboxe etc.. having a 3mo son I'm now on the build tools that build tools to build stuff plan...

I recently built a brake for my press that will easily bend 1/4", and could likely do small sections of thicker. I'll post up a pic or two if it's helpful.

Here ya go. I'll do up to 18" wide and bent 1/4" thick 4" bar without breaking a sweat. I'm pretty sure it'll do 3/16" across the full width. It's a 3/8" thick x 6" wide base with 1.5" 1/4" thick angle welded to it. The blade is 1/2". The initial sharpening was done with plasma, then fine tuned with a grinder.

Thanks!! I may steal your plans for the next one.. the last one I built the lower was basically the same but the top would clamp to the press 2x2 1/4" tube with nuts welded on and the bolts clamp it w/o the side alignment pins... this way would alow it to spin hard to get straight and keep accurate.. wasnt really needed for what I was building.. the next one i build your idea is great.. simple and tooless..

Glad to help! Cheap to build, too. all the parts came out of the remnants bin at Dencol.

3 months away at the garage for tinkering when time was available and I still have major front suspension issues (mechanic says Bronco is un-driveable) and the suggestion that the carb is bad as the Bronco "won't get out of its own way and won't stay running." Argh.

He basically said that with the stock radius arms, 7 degree bushings and 3.5" WH springs that are on there now that there is no way to adjust the caster enough to get it past like 1 degree. He has said that with power on there is not so much of an issue but that when you take your foot off the gas and/or brake it scared him. He said he would not drive it over 40mph and called it a death trap. The nerve! :-) He suggested radius arm drop brackets to fix the problem.

To be honest, I have not driven it yet. I have a new adjustable trac bar on there but I have not done the radius arm drop bracket or extended radius arms or the trac bar riser / drop bracket or any of the ball joints or the drop pitman arm or anything with the drag link.

Of course thoughts are welcome.

I'm running 7 degree bushings and a 3 1/2" lift without those problems. I would check steering linkage.

Yeah, that setup has been done 1000's of times without issue. Got to be something else.

might be the angles with the drag link and trackbar giving you a ton of bump steer... check your angles you want to make sure the drag link and track bar are parallel to each other. If they are off your trackbar riser should take care of that.

The caster while important really shouldn't be an issue. Not sure if you know (or your mechanic) but the radius arm wedges go in one way if they are upside down they will give you really bad caster.

Doesn't sound like ball joints but I would check everything up front, but like JD and 76Bronco said this is nothing new, I'm running 3.5" lift and 7 degree bushings and running fine as well...

Carb issues aren't my thing but maybe rebuilt it.. cheap and pretty easy.

I finished modifying an older hitch to give me a higher pivot (lobo) point. I had to notch the bumper a bit but I like where it sits. Since the front hooks are done and the rear is finished, I can be pulled out, up, or back.

Here's a link over at ACB with the "before" pics.

That's pretty cool fab there Shawn. With skilz like that you should be able to replace the zip ties holding your plate on with something more permanent.

Shawn, looks like you notched the bumper to fit around the receiever.

What did you use to cut the bumper so the chrome didn't get discolored / damaged ?

I marked the corners and drilled a 1/4" hole. Then I just used a grinder to cut. It cut really easy and fast. The problem was trying not to cut beyond the marks with the wheel. It was also tough to measure how high the receiver was going to be. I made 3 different cuts to get it right.
