Re: Priceless
I love it. I was at a car dealership with my mom to help her pick out a car yesterday and that specific situation came up. My mom traded in her 95 jag and we asked the lady what they would do with it, she said "we don't mess with jag and land Rovers and such because they have so many things that can go wrong with them, we will send it to auction." So I told her thats why I have a bronco from when cars were simple and long lasting. The dealer said (with big eyes) don't ever sell that bronco those are great machines. It was priceless, my mom always gives me trouble about my truck and being old and her car being a better vehicle.

Re: Priceless
I love the simple elegance of these old machines, I talk a bit of trash about how mine could break any minute due to it's age, but ALWAYS take it to rescue other vehicles. This weekend i loaded up a few tools and got two other broken vehicles running and safely home.

Re: Priceless
Awesome. Wait, a fuel pump was four and a half grand? I'd sell any car that had a single repair costing that much.

Re: Priceless
Michelle gives me the same static from time to time, saying you're fixing it (the EB) all the time. Nevermind the fact that I can do the work myself and parts cost next to nothing. Her fuel pump went out this summer to the tune of 4580.00! My sending unit was 45.00. She hasen't said a word since the Bronco Started this weekend to go on a parts run for her Land Rover it was PRICELESS![/quote]
Thats so true. My Mom's car was so bad to work on, no room in that thing to do anything. Anytime we needed to replace a part it seemed it had to be shipped in from Europe and cost two to three times more than it should. Dealers are pretty proud of those high end cars. I always joke with her that the Bronco goes up in price each year and hers goes down, whats up with that. Haha Your replacement reminds me of something my dad always hated about the jag. Every time he took it to the dealer they always found something wrong and wanted a small fortune to fix it. Broncos are so nice to work on in comparison.

Re: Priceless
We have a land rover as well... I severly dislike that car.
You know you have to pull the intake to change the spark plug wires?
Currently it looks like christmas every time you drive it there are so many warning lights... but everything is working so who gives a rats ass if the stupid down hill decelerator mode is working or not? All I know, it is out of warranty and costs far to much to repair. THe Excursion is better, I rebuilt the trans with upgrades for $2500.00
Of course we don have that into Drew's Bronco yet all together and it drives without any lights, bells and warnings....
Go Figure

Re: Priceless
my keyboard has been acting up lately...I have to pound on the keys like a caveman. The fuel pump for the Rover was "only" 480.00
