Hopefully get some time tomorrow to work on it.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Just got the frame back from sandblasting. If anyone else needs to do this the place I went is Rocky Mountain Memorials down on Fountain and Hancock in Colorado Springs. They do headstones and such but do other things as well. They did an excellent job and it was the best $150.00 I've ever spent on my project. Hands down. I'll post pics later.

That sounds awful familiar to the place I had sandblast my bumper. Was very reasonably priced then too!

Thanks Kirk and Phil for the help with the axle this morning.
I think I found where it came from, Kirk would you mind comparing it to this picture for me ?

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
New to me door hinges installed. The door actually closes without the window frame rubbing against the hard top now.
Pull the door apart and lubed up the locking mechanism/latch. Reinstalled and resecured all rods. I can open my door from the outside again, without having to leave my vent window unlocked.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Part 2 Headed out the door to go to Home Depot. Starter is out on the Stroppe'd. Figure it will be a quick swap with Terrible One. Long tube headers on Stroppe'd disagree. Wind up having to pull the PS header and all spark plugs on that side to get enough wiggle room to remove the starter.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Terrible One got a new to me, best price ever starter this evening. Also managed to wiggle one stock height Wildhorses coil spring in. You want to see Bronco lean? Look at a Bronco with one coil replaced.

Cleaned the garage that surrounds it. Way worth the hours it took. Thanks again, guys.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
My old stock latch was a pain to latch/unlatch. I grabbed a FS Bronco tailgate latch assembly from the PnP awhile ago and finally finished her up. I had to make spacers for the rise on the tailgate, flip the clasp and weld it on a plate, U bolt it on, and paint it. This is a ton easier to latch/unlatch and it's a tight solid fit.

Rox helped me swap out my cracked 9" housing for the '77 housing I've been sitting on for a while. Mounted the new housing back 3/4" and fixed the intermitent ARB leak. No chickens were harmed during the process but a leaf spring pin was.

Drove it until it ran out of gas on the main tank, replacing the tank with a new 23 gallon tank. Did a compression check, pulled the radiator and front accessories in preparation for pulling the engine tomorrow.
IT'S EFI TIME!!!

What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
Finally got to rebuild the steering column, install the collapsible steering shaft, and did a tuneup and an oil change on mine. It's the first time in 6 months or more I was able to do upgrades on it, and not just minor maintenance :)
Also Todd's is and has been with the body man for a little while, I cleaned up the chassis on his last weekend, hopefully next weekend I can drop in the engine, trans, and t-case. I promise I'll update the build thread then.

OH I used my tail gate as a work bench yesterday. I need to stop using the bronco as a storage locker and get back to work on it.

Got the tub put on a temporary frame :-) Now I can get the inside and underside lined while I'm working on the chassis.

Re: What have you done to your Bronco today? (v.2)
I've been trying to get the Bronco ready for Moab before I move. Been saving some of these upgrades for years. Here they are in order. Glass hood, '77 9" housing, fixed an intermittent rear ARB leak, WH extreme u-bolts and plates (also pushed axle back 3/4"), mustang hydroboost on firewall, 4 1/2" front springs.
Thanks go to Rox Crusher and 777mechanic for pushing me and helping get this stuff installed. The WH u-bolts and plates are massive at 5/8" each. All hardware for mounting the hydroboost was made on 777mechanic's mill. Bronco 8378.jpg Bronco 8379.jpg Bronco 8383.jpg Bronco 8380.jpg Bronco 8381.jpg

Very nice work, Viper. That is my fav hood of all time. It's not that you were putting off your Bronco, you were helping everyone else :)
