Is everyone selling stuff on craigslist crazy?
I have been combing craigslist for a truck topper prior to the Moab trip and all I'm getting is and stupid people. I looked at a one last week advertised as "great condition". That one had 20-30 cracks that were large enough that I could actually look inside through them. I called on another one that the guy refused to take a measurement on it so I could see if it would fit my truck. Tonight, I talked to another guy who actually yelled at me for wanting to look at his topper during the week!. I asked him if he could text me photos ( In the Ad he said he would ) He got very agitated and said if I wanted to see it I would have to call him on a weekend "like a normal person" ( He actually said that ). At this point, I was pissed and told him he could keep his F'ing topper. No wonder its been reposted monthly for the past 4 months, I doubt anyone has ever actually seen it. The only guy that has been normal was a guy that had a great topper but it didn't fit my truck. I have two more to look at, I hope at least one of the two is a normal person with a decent topper. OK , I'm done bitching now.

Craigslist is awesome !
I have my pop-up camper on there now for 8,500.
A guy sends me an email asking if it is still available and if so, would I take 7,000 cash for it. If so, he might be willing to come look at it.
I replied that it was still available but I would prefer to start negotiations after he had actually looked at it and that I wasn't accepting anything other than cash.
He came and looked and ended up being a great guy but it didn't suit his fancy.
Being "old school" can be a challenge these days.

Patience on the topper brother. I was really wanting one for my truck and seemed to constantly miss great deals. They would either be local and gone in minutes or in Denver and sold just as I was leaving town to go look at them. Finally, after combing ads for a very long time I wound up scoring one for 150.00. It's not perfect, and there are a few small repairs that need to be made, but it works for me. The sellers even tried to throw in a free 25' air hose on a reel, but I made them take some cash for it.

Re: Is everyone selling stuff on craigslist crazy?
I got an old Ford Bronco radio on CL listed and got an unusual request from a lady that wanted to buy it supposedly for son. Sent a bogus check through UPS for $1870. She wanted me to send the radio, keep some for shipping and "running around" and send the rest back. Lots of weird addresses on the UPS envelope. Did not send her anything, but did notify the bank abt this bogus check. Yes, she did inquire abt it under another name and email. Some people think you were just born yesterday. Some nuts on CL. Also, there are some honest ones..
