If you have not already found this Bronco Site, here is a link to it and a post that has some good discussion on troubleshooting with Viperwolf providing great info. Use his trick of removing the drivers side vent to access the cluster.
http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showth ... fuel+guageThere is an IVR located on the back of the gauge cluster that provides the output voltage to the gauges and wired in series if I remember. Search more on that site for diagrams etc that are out there for the cluster itself. This post has the ohm readings for all the gauges.
For some reason, the fuel gauge seems to be a challenge for many of us.
