I rec'd a $500 check today from the Adams County Judicial Dist. Having an idea what's it for, but not for certain I give them a call and my hunch was confirmed.

Back in May-ish of 2006 I was leaving my neighborhood headed for work. I was crossing straight thru an intersection when a fella coming from the opposite direction in an older Legacy turned right in front of me. There was little time to react and I slammed into the side of his car, totaling it.



This was 30 days before we're to report to San Antonio and I needed to truck to get my bronco down there.

The wife, pregnant, gets out and starts yelling at me stating it was all my fault, but it clearly was not. No one was hurt, the cops were called and while we waited, the other drivers mom arrived to pickup his wife, which I learned was in the US illegally. He pleaded that I not say anything and promises he has insurance, but doesn't have any proof. Cops arrive, take statements and the vehicles get towed away.

Fast forward to today when I finally get my deductible back! 8 years later!

Wow that's , ya gotta love the govt. and it's efficiency

I had a mystery check like that once from Larimer county. I had a stereo stolen out my Bronco and caught the guy in the act. The guy had destroyed the stereo and dash but at least he was caught. Jump ahead 5-6 years and they got around to garnishing his wages for restitution, once they collected from him they cut me a check. I was still young and dumb so i converted that check to beer and wings pretty quick.
